Meet the artist Katrin S. Kristy
KATRIN KRISTY was born in Sofia, Bulgaria.
She resided there until age 21. The majority of her fine art education was completed in Europe. She has natural artistic talent, which was discovered at an early age. She graduated with honors from the College Of Fine Art. In Europe her watercolor paintings and graphics were exhibited with great success.
She was accepted into the Pasadena Art Institute’s most advanced oil media portrait class and graduated with an A. She has attended classes at the LA Art Museum as well. Katrin presently works mostly with oil. She continues to take art lessons weekly.
She has received many awards, as well “Best of Show” recognition's. She is with California Artist Club, Glendale Art Association, Verdugo Art Club.
She recently exhibited her art in an art gallery with San Fernando Valley Art Club.
She was successfully juried and accepted to become a member of the very famous Internet art site “Art-Exchange.com”. She paints, water scenes, pets, flowers, still life, portraits and landscapes. She accepts commission work as well.
Katrin enjoys the realistic style of painting with a touch of color, movement and expression, which enables her to capture the quality and beauty of life.
She has traveled all over the world, and visited the most famous art galleries, museums and other places.
Italy, with its stunning beauty in places such as Florence, Rome, Venice, and Verona are inspiration for her future landscape artwork. Her visit to French provenances provides inspiration for future paintings. Lately her landscapes of local California scenes have given her many awards.
Her painting have sold at Burr’s Gallery in Burbank, The Colonnade Art in Pasadena, White Gallery, Montrose, Silver Lake Art Gallery and lately at Descanso Gardens Libraries, Citi bank and many others places.
Her style is a combination of classic fine art and expressionism. She uses palette knife or brush strokes or both.
